Fulham was one of the pioneers of the “My First Game” initiative. It offered children an opportunity to come to the very first football match and make it a day to remember. The staff and management at Fulham FC have included stadium tour, manager-signed certificate, and a bag of Fulham goodies. According to the Fulham’s manager, this was a sensible move where so many kids, tempted to support the biggest clubs in the UK, this was a way to make them a fan for life.
Tommy Guthrie, Fulham FC’s Liaison Officer, was considered Club’s hero for bringing more and more supporters to Fulham, which mostly included new supporters. He also won the award for “Season’s unsung hero” for his untiring commitment to the new fans and keeping them well-informed.
